Austalian FM Partners with Cambodia in Promoting Gender Equality & Adressing Violence Against Women

Phnom Penh: Austalian Foreign Minister and Minister of Women's Affairs, Marise Payne has stated that Australia and Cambodia's partnership prioritises the promotion of gender equality and addressing violence against women.

She says, "With my counterpart, Her Excellency Dr Ing Kantha Phavi, Cambodian Minister of Women’s Affairs, we visited a crisis shelter for women survivors of gender-based violence, managed by the Cambodian Women’s Crisis Center (CWCC) in Phnom Penh."

She has added that frontline service providers such as CWCC, play an important role in ensuring quality and timely services remain accessible and available for women survivors of violence.

"To take forward this work, Australia’s flagship Australia-Cambodia Cooperation for Equitable Sustainable Services program (ACCESS), will be extended until 2023. Together, as one region, we can work towards a safer and more equitable world for women and girls."
