King Norodom Sihamoni to Attend the 41st General Assembly of UNESCO

Phnom Penh: The King of the Kingdom of Cambodia, His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, will attend the 41st General Assembly of UNESCO on its 75th anniversary, to be held in France, from 10-14 November. He will also deliver a royal message at the Opening Ceremony of the General Assembly that focus around the curriculum achievement of UNESCO in Cambodia. This statement was issued on Monday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The Prime Minister of Cambodia has announced during the inauguration of the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction (MLMUPC) that on Tuesday, a ceremony will be led by His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni lightening the “victory flame” at the Independence Monument.

Then on Wednesday, the King will attend the UNESCO General Assembly in France. Since King Norodom Sihamoni will not be present on Thursday, the Acting Head of State, Samdech Vibol Sena Pheakdei Say Chhum, also the President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia will extinguish the candle in place of the King.
