Angkor Wat 26th International Half Marathon Sets on 19 December

PHNOM PENH: The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) has announced the schedule of the Angkor-Wat 26th International Half Marathon in Siem Reap Province, on 19 December.

The number of participants is limited to 2,500, so this number gives priority to athletes who registered in 2020 to register again between 4 to 22 November. New registrants can register from 23 November to 1 December at the office of Cambodia Events Organizer, 79CEo, Street 155, Sangkat Toul Tompong 1, Khan Chamkarmon, Phnom Penh.

The announcement of NOCC also states that as the situation of Covid-19 has improved and the Royal Government is gradually opening up the socio-economic situation with the official announcement of vaccination tourism, the NOCC is ready to open the 26 International Half Marathon Day.

The event will take place with thorough application of the safety measures by the Ministry of Health to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Participants are limited to about 2,500 Cambodians and foreigners staying in Cambodia. Runners must be vaccinated. And will have to get a rapid test before entering the track. They should maintain a distance of 1.5 meters, arranged in long rows. Before leaving, the mask must be worn for a distance of 200 meters before being allowed to remove it. Health care and safety systems are also very thorough and rigorous. The National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) has just received the approval in principle from the Standing Committee of the National Committee for Disease Control and Prevention and is awaiting a decision from the Royal Government of Cambodia soon.

The event will make the Kingdom throw open its doors for tourism in Siem Reap. NOCC urges people and athletes to continue to support this sporting event.
