Asia-Europe Cultural Festival on 22-26 November

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia is celebrating cultures connect. Asia-Europe Cultural Festival will be held from 22 to 26 November at the National Museum, which will feature concerts, mixed arts performances, contemporary dance and film festivals, photo exhibitions and artwork aims at promoting people-to-people contacts, sharing experiences, exchanges, understanding of diversity and cultural integration of Asian and European cultures.

The festival will be held before the 13th Asia-Europe Summit which starts on 25 to 26 November, with the theme is multilateralism, economic growth, sustainable development and prosperity.

Undersecretary of State for the Ministry of Culture Kim Pinun has shared to EAC News that the festival will be divided into three activities, including performing arts, exhibitions and joint screenings between Asia and Europe. He also confirmed that the event will be organized online.

On the closing day of the festival, Tep Monorom dance will be featured and to be shown to the international community. It is the identity of Khmer culture and part of the world heritage. It is not just a classical dance that shows the friendship, happiness, well-being and prosperity of the people of Cambodia. Also known as the Dance of the Gods and Goddesses of happiness. The dancers represent Tevoda,or divine beings. It is one of the most beautiful dances in classical Khmer dancing where the elaborate appearance of each dancer prepares them both mentally and physically.
