Cambodia Prideful to Host 32nd ASEAN SEA Games and Paralympic Games in 2023

PHNOM PENH: The Secretary-General of the National Organizing Committee of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games 2023 (CAMSOC) Vath Chamroeun says Cambodia is proud to host the 32nd SEA Games and the ASEAN Paralympic Games in 2023, after the last two ASEAN Para Games before 2023 were canceled.

The secretary general calls on people with disabilities, both young and strong enough to play sports, to contact CAMSOC or the National Paralympic Committee of Cambodia to participate in training for the disabled national team. Cambodia lacks more disabled athletes, therefore looking for more talented athletes with disabilities and strong will, while the number of disabled athletes in ASEAN is still small.

CAMSOC has made a detailed plan for the preparation of sports competitions for people with disabilities, defining 13 sports principles, with the establishment of sports infrastructure for people with disabilities and the use of CAMSOC specialized committees to serve, together with the Organizing Committee of the ASEAN Para Games. Disability sports have a lot of potential. The provision of foreign coaches, the supply, and incentives for sports for the disabled are also highly valued, as well as for non-disabled sports. The important goal of CAMSOC is to promote equitable sports events for the disabled. The same goes for non-disabled sports and the goal of the 12th ASEAN Para Games to be as historically successful as the 32nd SEA Games.
