Bokator Players Won Three Gold and Two Silver Medals in the 2021 International Martial Arts Contest Online

PHNOM PENH: The Kingdom’s Bokator players have bagged three gold and two silver medals in the 2021 International Martial Arts Contest Online which ended on Sunday. The Secretary General of the Boxing Federation of Cambodia Vath Chamroeun has shared the news.

The World Martial Arts Online is organized by the World Martial Arts Organization (WoMAU), and being held annually in the Republic of Korea. Athletes go to Korea to participate. But this year, due to the Covid-19 crisis, the tournament is being held online. Cambodia have won gold medals in the past not once but many times over. For 2021, Cambodia, took gold medals again, which is a great honor for Cambodian Bokator fighters.

The secretary general of the Boxing Federation has stated that winning this medal is not just an honor but the country’s opportunity to promote Bokator to the world, an ancient battlefield martial art used by ancient Khmer military groups. It is one of the oldest existing fighting systems originating from the Kingdom.

Boxing Federation of Cambodia is working hard under the leadership of the President of the Boxing Federation of Cambodia Dr. Chan Sarun, who is actively working with the international community.

The 12 participating countries are Laos, Egypt, Vietnam, India, Uzbekistan, Ghana, the Philippines, Malaysia, Iran, Singapore, Korea and Cambodia, with 220 participants.
