PM to Provide Vaccine to Cambodians Living in Thailand

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen has ordered officials to cooperate with Thailand in sending the Covid-19 vaccine to Thailand to help the Thai government vaccinate Cambodians living in the country.

The prime minister has announced this at the Peace Palace this morning. He also expressed his gratitude to the country where many Cambodian workers live and his wish to have them vaccinated. He added that Cambodian workers living in Korea and Japan have already received full vaccination, while many workers in Thailand and Malaysia have not yet receive full vaccination against Covid-19.

The Kingdom is in constant contact with Thailand to provide Covid-19 vaccine for the care and vaccination of Cambodians there. The government wants the Thai side to manage the transportation to deliver vaccine to Cambodians living in Thailand.

The prime minister says that the government does not forget its people living abroad, especially in the Kingdom of Thailand. He even mentions that if one is in Cambodia and wished to be vaccinated then you will surely be vaccinated. One hundred percent of the target population in the Kingdom has been vaccinated.

Currently, there are more than one million Cambodian workers living in Thailand, but many of them already returned to Cambodia.
