Cambodia Distributes Over $470 Million Covid-19 Cash Support

Phnom Penh: The Royal Government of Cambodia has distributed over $470 million of cash support to the vulnerable families in the middle of Covid-19 pandemic. The Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans, and Youth Rehabilitation has stated that during the Covid-19 fight, the government has conducted seven rounds of cash assistance from 25 Jun to 24 October this year.

The cash support porgramme has assisted 678,459 vulnerable families or poor families. This is equivalent to 2,678,038 individuals. Prime Minister Hun Sen launched the cash subsidy programme for the poor and vulnerable families during the pandemic on 24 June.
