Murder-Suicide of Couple in Kandal

Kandal: A man described by police as “extremely jealous” has stabbed his wife to death before turning the knife on himself. Police Inspector Lieutenant Colonel Leng Sokrun of Kandal Steung district says the husband was suffering from depression. The tragic incident took place on Tuesday morning in Kandal’s Kampong Toul village.

The man has been named as 41-year-old Pich Vichet. His 40-year-old wife was Kim Pov. She as working as a sales assistant. Her husband was a mobile food vendor. According to the wife’s sister, she witnessed her brother-in-law verbally and physically abusing his wife on several occasions.

The murder-suicide occurred in front of family members. The couple were rushed to the Kandal Steung District Referral Hospital where they both died from stab wounds.
