PHNOM PENH: The Ministry of Health has announced to exempt the quarantine of doctors and other frontline service providers in the kingdom. Minister of Health, Mam Bunheng says that they are no longer required to undergo quarantine after performing their duties in hospitals and clinics dealing with Covid-19 patients. However, they have to present a negative PCR test result to confirm that they are not infected with Covid-19 and will not risk spread it to their family members.
The Ministry of Health has stated that the exemption covers surgeons and other doctors and frontline workers for Covid-19 as long as they follow the safety health protocols such as the constant wearing of personal protective equipment. If proper health measures are not followed by these frontline service providers having a direct contact with Covid-19 patients, they are required to undergo a week of quarantine either at home or at a designated location.
