Over 120,000 Doses of Sinovac Arrive from COVAX

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia has received 124,800 doses of Sinovac vaccine from COVAX facility on Friday evening. The aid for the Covid-19 fight arrived in Phnom Penh International Airport. It was received by the Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health, Yuok Sambath and WHO Representative in Cambodia, Dr. Li Ailan. UNICEF Representative Cambodia, Foroogh Foyouzat was also present during the arrival of the vaccine from COVAX.

Cambodia has now recieved around 37.7 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines including the newly arrived from COVAX. The kingdom has been vaccinating three age groups such as the adult population (18 years old and above), adolescents (12-17 years old) and children (6-11 years old). The government has already vaccinated 99.67% of the adult population out of the 10 million target number. For 12-17 years old, 90.53% while 99.91% for the 6-11 years old. Booster doses are also provided in which 1,593,324 people have been inoculated.
