Phnom Penh Exempts Under-18s from Showing Vaccination Cards at Educational Institutions

Phnom Penh: The Phnom Penh Administration has decided to waive the showing of immunization cards for people under the age of 18 at all educational institutions in the capital, as people under the age of 18 are not at risk for active transmission of Covid-19.

In an additional instruction dated 17 October 2021, Phnom Penh Governor, Khuong Sreng, has decided to exclude citizens under the age of 18 from the group of people who are required to show a vaccination card when entering educational institutions, as well as libraries, bookstores, canteens, food and beverage shops located in each educational institution in Phnom Penh.

The Phnom Penh Municipal Administration states: "Through regular monitoring and evaluation, the Phnom Penh Municipal Administration observes that children and adolescents under the age of 18 are not at risk of active transmission, but are at risk from the transmission of Covid-19 disease".

According to Phnom Penh Capital Hall, professors, teachers, educators, parents and guests who come to the school must show their vaccination card, while each school must pay more attention to health measures, by wearing a mask, social distancing, washing hands, and using the QR code.
