Man Swept Away by Flooded River in Pailin

Pailin: A man has been swept away by a flooded river in Pailin’s Phnom Dambang, bordering Samlot district, after he went down to grab a tree floating in the river. Pailin police say that Nang Sinal, a 44-year-old man, was swept away by water while collecting wood at 10:47 on 15 October at Krachab Village, Sangkat Otavao in Pailin City.

Witness to the incident, Seang Malay, described that he saw the victim standing on the other side of the river where the water was rising to catch wood. He was then carried away. Seang says he then shouted for help and reported to the police.

Currently, the Police Force of Sangkat Otavao and the village guards, as well as the villagers, are continuing to search the riverbank at the location of the incident.
