Phnom Penh: Ministry of Justice spokesman Chin Malin is to meet with regional directors and the world justice project team to inquire about the method of assessing the rule of law score after the organization assessed the rule of law score in Cambodia. In the annual report of the world justice project released in 2021, the rule of law in Cambodia is ranked 138 out of 139 countries.
Justice Ministry spokesman Chin Malin told EAC News that the assessment was "strange and unacceptable" as some communist countries, some led by military regimes, some countries were even fighting and ruled by military force and a coup, are scored higher than Cambodia.
He said: "The problem with the method used is related to the data collected and the data source, especially the survey, the interviewer. We don't know which group to use in the survey and the target group in the survey. We don't know which group recruited to use the information. "So there is a lot of skepticism about the methods used that lead to biased results and do not respond to the real situation."
Mr. Malin stated that this meeting is to strengthen cooperation and increase cooperation in the next assessment to make the report more accurate. He said he would have more details after the meeting next week.
