World Bank Cambodia Congratulates the Kingdom for its Vaccination Success

PHNOM PENH: The new president of World Bank Cambodia, Maryam Salim has congratulated the kingdom for the vaccination success against Covid-19. She made the statement during her meeting with the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Economy and Finance, Vongsey Visoth who is also a Minister Delegate of the Prime Minister.

Minister Visoth has stressed that that in the context of the global crisis caused by the spread of Covid-19, the Royal Government of Cambodia and the World Bank should jointly revise the Country Partnership Framework 2019-2023. This is to ensure responsiveness as the world, as well as Cambodia, is living in the new normal way with covid-19; especially at present that the Royal Government is planning to restore and stimulate economic growth for 2021-2023 in the near future.

He has added that Cambodia has three approaches on the economic recovery plan after the Covid-19 crisis for year 2021-2023. These are the revival and survival, rehabilitation and rebuilding the economic base, and lastly, resilience. With this, Salim has appreciated the effort of the Cambodian government. She says the country has received fruitful achievements in both economic and social fields, especially in the fight against Covid-19 to protect the health and life of the people.
