Prime Minister Hun Sen ‘‘Chinese Vaccine Delivered Today Will Help Cambodia Reach The Vaccination Target Ahead of Time”

PHNOM PENH: The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Hun Sen, said that the delivery of 2 million Chinese Sinovac vaccines, this morning, will enable Cambodia to complete its vaccination plan quickly and ahead of schedule.

The Prime Minister wrote on his Facebook page that China was the first country to provide Covid-19 vaccine assistance to Cambodia since February 2021. Cambodia also purchased some doses bringing the total number to 32.8 million of the Chinese vaccine, which means that Cambodia has enough vaccines to deliver to all its citizens.

The Prime Minister said "So far, the Chinese government has donated a total of 6,800,000 doses of vaccines to Cambodia, and Cambodia has received a total of 32.8 million doses of vaccines from China in both aid and orders, besides that the presence of Chinese vaccines has also enabled Cambodia to achieve its vaccination plan quickly and ahead of schedule."

As of October 13th, Cambodia has vaccinated more than 13.5 million people aged 6 years and over, equivalent to 84.66% of the total 16 million population.
