Serbia and Cambodia Cement Ties

Phnom Penh: Serbia says it is ready to welcome Prime Minister Hun Sen for an official visit, just as soon as a schedule can be finalised. This was conveyed during Sunday’s courtesy call by Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, Ouch Borith on the Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia. The visit took place a day ahead of Serbia’s hosting of the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Non-Aligned Movement, being celebrated on Monday and Tuesday.

Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister, Ouch Borith and Serbia’s Foreign Minister, Nicola Selakovic discussed on long-standing friendship and “fruitful cooperation” between the two countries. They said both of their respective countries had enjoyed outstanding leadership since they first established diplomatic relations in 1957, and have underscored their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in politics, the economy, tourism and investment.

Selakovic highlighted that Serbia is ready for the planned visit of Prime Minister Hun Sen to the country, which will further deepen the friendship and cooperation between the two states. Their Foreign Minister has added that the Serbian government is considering opening missions across Southeast Asia. By the end of this year it will send a delegation to visit countries in the region including Cambodia.
