Unidentified Woman Found Dead Floating in Kandal River

Kandal: A body of a woman was found dead floating in Kandal province’s Bassac River on Saturday afternoon. The victim was found by the nearby residents in Tonle Bassac at Prek Ta Chor village, Svay Proteal commune in Saang district.

According to Saang District Police, they have difficulties identifying the fatality since the body was swollen and in decomposition state. Police investigators have estimated the victim’s age in her 20’s with height at 1.62 metres and a coloured hair of white and black. Her clothes are still intact wearing black pants, long-sleeved black and gray t-shirt.

The victim’s body was handed over to Svay Proteal Administration Police Station for further investigation. Forensic examination reveals that the woman died from drowning. No visible marks on the body of the victim found that could lead to her identification. Svay Proteal Administration Post and Svay Proteal Commune Council are preparing for the burial at Wat Russey Chroy.
