Agenda Released for Friday’s Meeting of Council of Ministers

Phnom Penh: Cambodia’s Council of Ministers will meet on Friday to discuss, among other things, an amendment to the kingdom’s constitution that would prevent dual citizenship for the country’s top leadership. Prime Minister Hun Sen requested the amendment be considered in light of incorrect reports this week that he had been given a passport by Cyprus.

The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister in charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers, Bin Chhin, released the agenda for Friday’s meeting at the Peace Palace on Thursday evening:

 1. Draft Constitutional Law on the Amendment of Article 19, Article 82, Article 106 (new), Article 119 (new) and Article 137 (new) of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Cambodia and Article 3 of the Additional Constitution to ensure the normal functioning of national institutions.

 2. Draft law on public-private partnership.

 3. Draft of 3-year rolling public investment program for 2022-2024.

 4. Other issues requested for approval from the Council of Ministers by the legislature.

 5. Draft Law on the Approval of Supplementary Agreements to the Agreement between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the United Nations Concerning the Prosecution under Cambodian Law of Crimes Committed During the Period of Democratic Kampuchea Transition and Termination of the Extraordinary Chamber.
