PM Congratulates His New Japanese Counterpart

Phnom Penh: Prime Minister Hun Sen has congratulated the newly elected Prime Minister of Japan, Kishida Fumio. He has sent the congratulatory message through a letter on Monday. The Cambodian Prime Minister says, "On behalf of the Royal Government and people of Cambodia, I would like to express my heartfelt congratulations to Your Excellency on your election as the Prime Minister of Japan, following your victory in the recent Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) Leadership election, which reflects the confidence and support that the LDP members as well as Japanese people have placed upon you.”

He has added that with Fumio’s abundant experience in both legislative and executive institutions, he strongly believes that under his wise and able leadership, Japan will

continue to prosper and will be able to overcome the COVID-19 crisis and emerge even stronger.

Prime Minister Hun Sen has stated that he looked forward to working closely with the Japanese Prime Minister Fumio to further consolidate and broaden the close bond of friendship and strategic partnership between Cambodia and Japan, as well as the mutual benefits of the two countries and nations, and for peace, stability and prosperity in the region and beyond.
