Ministry Returns Confiscated Trucks from Friday Until 18 October

Phnom Penh: The Ministry of Public Works and Transport has informed the owners of overweight trucks to collect their confiscated vehicles from Friday until 18 October. The Minister of Public Works and Transport, Sun Chantol, held a media briefing on Friday morning, informing the owners of overweight vehicles that have already paid their fine can go to pick up their vehicles, taking along the required documentation.

Vehicle owners who have not yet paid the fines, must do so no later than 18 October, after which the Ministry will take legal action against them.

The Ministry of Public Works stated: "The Steering Committee for the Inspection of Overweight Trucks and Efforts shall be made to disseminate more widely informed laws and regulations to the public to better understand and comprehend, including efforts to continue to tighten law enforcement without understanding or exempting a second time."

Prime Minister Hun Sen authorized the Ministry of Public Works and Transport to release 229 vehicles on Thursday in order to restore the national economy, especially to support the revival of the private sector, ahead of Pchum Ben.
