NEC Calls Citizens to Check Voter's List

Phnom Penh: The National Election Committee NEC has appealed to Cambodians who are on the 2020 voter list to check their names posted at commune halls and town halls. The NEC says on Thursday that if voter's name or data is incorrect, they must ask the voter registration team to make corrections. They can also visit the website of the NEC at voterlist.nec.gov.kh or through the mobile app Voterlist KH to make sure that they have the correct name and data in the list Vote.

The examination of the 2021 voter list and registration runs from 12 October to 30 November at commune or sangkat halls across the country. The NEC stated that in the 2021 voter registration, Cambodians who have the right to vote and have not yet registered to vote before, especially those who have just reached the age of 18 must register to be able to vote for the next election. The same for Cambodian citizens who have moved to a new commune or sangkat to register to their new address to be allowed to vote in their area.

It has also called on all stakeholders, including political parties, associations and non-governmental organizations, media units and authorities at all levels, to help disseminate the content of this appeal on time. This is to ensure that the process of reviewing the voter list and voter registration in 2021 goes smoothly and safely while avoiding the spread of Covid-19. It says, "The NEC strongly hopes that the Cambodian people and all stakeholders will cooperate in calling for a high sense of responsibility in accordance with the law in force for the 2021 voter list and voter registration process to run smoothly and ensure the right of every citizen to vote."
