Barca Coach Facing Calls for Resignation

INTERNATIONAL: Barcelona have been hard at work in training ahead of Monday night’s league match against Granada, but all the media’s attention is on Barca coach, Ronald Koeman.

A lot of training is going into Monday night’s match, most especially after Barcelona’s 3-0 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich last week. They performed so badly, that there have already been calls for the coach’s resignation, but he’s keeping calm and carrying on:

"Much of it depends on the results of the team but there are also things that have been exaggerated. There are things about the team, changes, injuries and many young people, so I think people who think in what we have, people who know, probably say it is a change in time but in the end what matters is winning matches. But it can't be that I have to answer questions before a match against Bayern about whether I will renew my contract for a year. We lost against Bayern and now probably the next questions will be about whether I fear about my future."

Barcelona have just seven points after three matches in LaLiga. Koeman concedes he is under pressure to pick up a full three points against Granada, and do a lot better the next time his team run out onto the pitch in the UEFA Champions’ League. They next face Benfica on the 30th of September.
