400 Motorbikes Donated to Ministry of Health by Japan

Phnom Penh: On Wednesday morning, Minister of Health, Mam Bunheng, received 400 motorcycles from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). These are being distributed to frontline health officials in 25 capitals and provinces to help in the fight against Covid-19. The handover ceremony took place at the Central Pharmacy of the Ministry of Health with the Chief Representative of JICA Cambodia, Kamei Haruko.

She expressed her appreciation to the Royal Government and the Ministry of Health for their tireless efforts to prevent the spread of Covid-19. She also expressed her deep gratitude to the government for providing Covid-19 vaccines to Japanese nationals in the kingdom.

The Minister of Health highlighted the “kind generosity” of JICA. Mam Bunheng expressed his deep gratitude for the “precious humanitarian assistance of JICA” and its “gesture of shared culture with the Royal Government of Cambodia”, especially in the current circumstances where “we have been working together to promote measures to prevent and respond to the spread of Covid-19 since the 20 February community event”.
