King Congratulates PM for Peace Medal

Phnom Penh: Cambodia’s sovereign, His Majesty King Norodom Sihamoni, has congratulated Prime Minister Hun Sen for receiving the “World Summit Peace Gold Medal” on Sunday during the 7th World Summit of Hope: Think Tank 2022”. The event was organised by the Universal Peace Federation. Sunday’s event also featured former US President Donald Trump, under the theme: “Peace in Asia-Pacific”.

The King has praised the Prime Minister’s skills and leadership in guiding the country in “a stable and developing method”. HM also took the opportunity to compliment the Prime Minister for battling the Covid-19 pandemic “in an effective way”. The King concluded by wishing the Prime Minister and his family “success for the benefit of the nation and the people of Cambodia”.

Together with a gold medal, the award came with a cash prize of $1,000,000. The Prime Minister announced at the handover of the Morodok Techo National Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon that he had decided to donate the cash to the building of new homes for Cambodia’s veterans.
