Chamkar Mon District Authorities Arrest 17 Suspects in Major Online Scam Bust

Phnom Penh, Cambodia — In a decisive move against international technology fraud, Chamkar Mon District's Administrative Command, in coordination with the Deputy Prosecutor of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court, conducted a successful operation on October 17, 2025. This effort led to the arrest of 17 suspects at the LH RESIDENCE building, located at Building No. 13, Street 9, in the Ton Bassac Sangkat area of Chamkar Mon District.

The operation, targeting a suspected hub of fraudulent activity, resulted in the arrest of 14 Vietnamese nationals, including three women, and three Indonesian men. Authorities confiscated 109 all-in-one computers, one monitor, and 103 phones during the raid.

Preliminary investigations by experts confirm that the location was being used as a base for various fraudulent schemes, including investment fraud, online scams, and love scams targeting victims in different countries.

The apprehended individuals and seized equipment have been handed over to the Police Commissioner for further legal processing. Officials emphasize that this crackdown is part of a larger nationwide effort to combat technology-related fraud. Authorities are committed to enforcing the strictest legal procedures to dismantle such networks and bring those involved to justice.
