The Cambodian Ministry adamantly denies these allegations, describing the incident as a misunderstanding.

Lieutenant General Maly Socheata, Spokeswoman for the Cambodian Ministry of National Defense, clarified that reports of "3 to 5 small-caliber shots" fired by Cambodian forces with intent to provoke are inaccurate. According to verified information from Military Region 4, the incident involved the accidental discharge of two shots at 1:20 PM by a Cambodian unit stationed along the shared border.

In a demonstration of bilateral communication and conflict resolution, Communication Teams from both countries engaged promptly at 2:16 PM to exchange information and defuse the incident. The matter has since been amicably resolved, reinforcing the cooperative spirit between the neighboring nations.
