Chaom-SaNgam, August 27, 2025 — Cambodia and Thailand convened an Extraordinary Meeting of the Regional Border Committee (RBC) on Wednesday, with both sides pledging to maintain peace and strengthen cooperation along the border.
The meeting, hosted by Thailand, brought together senior military leaders from the two countries. The Cambodian delegation was led by Lieutenant General Pov Heng, Commander of the 4th Military Region, while the Thai delegation was headed by Lieutenant General Boonsin Padklang, Commander of the 2nd Army Area.
The discussions, held from 11:00 a.m. to 11:53 a.m., focused on measures to prevent armed clashes and reinforce communication between military regions, army areas, and border units.
According to a statement from Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence, both sides agreed to resolve disputes through dialogue, further strengthen relations at all levels, and build trust to promote good neighborliness.
Officials noted that the outcome of the talks reflects positive momentum in bilateral relations, contributing to stability along the border and broader cooperation across multiple sectors.
