Thai Military Begins Installing Concertina Wire Along Sa Kaeo Border to Strengthen Security

Sa Kaeo Province, August 10 — Thai military personnel have begun installing concertina wire fencing along a 9.8-kilometer section of the border in the Khlong Phrom Hot area of Sa Kaeo Province. The fencing is being strategically deployed from Aranyaprathet Checkpoint 20 at Khlong Luek Bridge (the Thailand-Cambodia Friendship Bridge) to Aranyaprathet Checkpoint 31.

Khaosod English reported that, the initiative aims to enhance border security and improve the effectiveness of intercepting and preventing illegal border crossings. The concertina wire is intended to serve as a physical barrier to deter undocumented foreign workers and disrupt activities of criminal networks, including scammer gangs and call centers, which often exploit natural border passages to evade detection.
