BREAKING: ICRC’s findings, all 18 Cambodian soldiers who were reportedly detained by Thai are safe and in good health

Phnom Penh, August 8, 2025 — Lieutenant General Rath Dararoth, Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defense, met this afternoon with Mr. Lloyd Gillett, Regional Armed Forces Delegate of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), during a courtesy call and discussion.

During the meeting, Mr. Gillett provided updates regarding a recent humanitarian visit conducted by the ICRC to check on the condition of 18 Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) soldiers who were reportedly detained by Thai authorities following the official ceasefire.

According to the ICRC’s findings, all 18 Cambodian soldiers are safe and in good health.
