UN Agencies Join Government Field Visit to Assess Needs of Displaced Communities in Oddar Meanchey and Siem Reap
Phnom Penh, August 6, 2025 – A joint delegation of United Nations agencies in Cambodia, including FAO, ILO, IOM, OHCHR, UN Women, UN-Habitat, UNDP, UNDSS, UNESCO, UNFPA, UNICEF, UNIDO, WFP, and WHO, participated in a field visit organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to meet with communities displaced by recent armed clashes along the Cambodia–Thailand border.
The delegation visited affected areas in Oddar Meanchey and Siem Reap provinces, where they listened to the concerns of displaced families and assessed the humanitarian situation on the ground.
In close coordination with national authorities, the United Nations, together with international and local humanitarian partners, has begun mobilizing a coordinated response to address the urgent needs of affected communities, including food, shelter, health services, and psychosocial support.
Above all, the United Nations reiterates its hope for a swift and lasting peace that will allow displaced families to return home safely and rebuild their lives with dignity and security.
