BREAKING: Samdech Techo Hun Sen Orders Expulsion of Thy Sovantha from Ruling Party and Government Posts

Phnom Penh — Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and President of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), announced via his official social media account the expulsion of Thy Sovantha from the ruling party and her removal from all government positions, citing repeated misconduct on Facebook.

We have no time to educate undisciplined officials when national affairs demand our immediate attention,” Techo Hun Sen wrote. “Time and again, Thy Sovantha has posted inappropriate messages. I personally called her a few days ago and asked her to delete two such posts. Today, she again posted content that disrespects the army while it is defending national territory.

Techo Hun Sen stated that he had instructed Kuoch Chamroeun, Chairman of the CPP’s Kandal Provincial Committee, to expel her from the party. He also directed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha to dismiss her from her position as Deputy Governor of Ari Ksach and to remove her from all state structures.

As the President of the ruling party, I have both the right and the responsibility to maintain discipline among party members,” he added.
