Phnom Penh, July 30, 2025 — The Cambodian government has vehemently denied allegations made by Thailand that it violated the ceasefire agreement reached on July 28 in Malaysia. In a statement released today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia refuted the claims, asserting its commitment to a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
The statement emphasized that at no time have Cambodian armed forces engaged in any actions that could be considered a breach of the ceasefire. Cambodia reiterated its dedication to ending hostilities and to preventing further loss of life and displacement.
The Cambodian government conveyed its appreciation for Malaysia's efforts as the current chair of ASEAN, praising its commitment to establishing a monitoring mechanism to ensure the ceasefire's effective implementation. Cambodia also acknowledged the support of ASEAN member states and other interested parties in working towards a lasting ceasefire.
To demonstrate its commitment to transparency, Cambodia, in cooperation with the ASEAN chair, facilitated a visit to the An Seh border area on July 30 for foreign diplomats and military attachés. This initiative underscores Cambodia's sincerity and its desire to maintain the ceasefire and bring a definitive end to the conflict.
The Cambodian government reiterated its steadfast adherence to the principles of international law, the peaceful resolution of disputes, and respect for the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and mutual dignity of both nations.
