Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet Reports Successful Ceasefire Negotiation with Thailand, Thanks U.S. Support

Phnom Penh, July 28: Tonight, Prime Minister Hun Manet of Cambodia announced on his social media platform that he has successfully negotiated an immediate ceasefire between Cambodian and Thai forces. The negotiations, held in Malaysia, marked a significant step toward regional stability and the de-escalation of tensions.

In his post, PM Hun Manet noted that he received a personal phone call from U.S. President Donald Trump, who congratulated him on the successful ceasefire talks. Trump highlighted the importance of this development and expressed his ongoing interest in monitoring the progress.

The Prime Minister expressed his gratitude to President Trump for his leadership and support in facilitating the negotiations. He also acknowledged the United States' role in co-hosting the special meeting in Malaysia earlier today, emphasizing its importance in reaching an agreement.

PM Hun Manet underscored the consensus among the involved parties that a robust mechanism must be put in place to monitor and ensure the full and sustainable implementation of the ceasefire. President Trump concurred, affirming that the United States will actively participate in this monitoring process and work closely with Malaysia to oversee compliance.
