Woman Claiming to be PM’s Daughter Admitted to Hospital for Mental Illness Treatment

Phnom Penh : Just hours after Prime Minister Hun Sen has asked a Facebook user to stop pretending to be his child, offering her help for what he called the individual’s “mental illness”, a woman has been admitted to the Phnom Penh Referral Hospital to receive treatment for a mental illness.

Calling herself “Ah July”, the woman reportedly has a history of making claims to be the Prime Minister’s child. She posted a comment on the Prime Minister’s Facebook page this weekend, once again stating the claim.

While the Prime Minister is clearly getting a little tired of it, asking the individual to stop stating the claim, he did offer her help, which has now been acted upon.

The Prime Minister posted a reply to the comment, encouraging the person’s family to come forward so that mental health treatment could be arranged.

The Prime Minister commented, “Your uncles and aunts can help treat your mental illness, so I ask you to give your phone number and where are you living?”

The woman, who lives in Orussey 3 commune in Phnom Penh’s 7 Makara district was identified on Sunday afternoon and was admitted to hospital on Sunday afternoon.

The Prime Minister does have five living children. Hun Komsat was killed during the Khmer Rouge era. His remaining children are Hun Manet, Hun Mana, Hun Manith, Hun Many and Hun Maly. Together with his wife, Bun Rany Hun Sen, he has 22 grandchildren.
