This meeting underscored the ongoing commitment of Cambodia, the EU, and Mexico to strengthening their economic partnership.

The discussions centered on several key topics, particularly investment opportunities. A major focus was to explore avenues for increased EU investment in Cambodia. Conversations involved clarifying regulations, identifying promising sectors, and addressing potential challenges faced by European and Mexican businesses operating in Cambodia.

The meeting provided a platform for exchanging views on Cambodia's economic development and reform efforts, emphasizing the significance of public financial management, taxation reforms, and sustainable economic growth—areas where the EU and Mexico have been extending support.

Participants explored strategies to facilitate trade flows, promote Cambodian exports to the EU and Mexican markets, and ensure compliance with international standards. The EU’s Global Gateway strategy was also a topic of discussion, with collaboration between the EU and the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) aimed at enhancing cooperation within this framework.

The engagement between the honorary consuls and the MEF reflects the EU's and Mexico's dedication to supporting Cambodia's economic development and fostering a favorable business environment. This dialogue is essential for building stronger economic ties and promoting mutual prosperity.

The meeting further highlighted the valuable role of honorary consuls in facilitating communication and cooperation between member state consulates and Cambodia. Their local knowledge and expertise are vital for promoting trade and investment and strengthening bilateral relations.
