Phnom Penh: Pich Piseth, who claims the identity of the golden-voiced Emperor Sinn Sisamouth, has been summoned by the Department of Anti-Technology Crime to appear in court for questioning regarding a case linked to social media activity at the Ministry of Interior. The Department date is scheduled for February 6, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., according to a summons letter issued by Major General Sok Nita, Director of the Department of Anti-Technology Crime, on January 28, 2025.
The summons instructs Piseth to provide various documents, including an identity card, family book or residence book, and other relevant materials.
The case has generated significant attention on social media, with multiple individuals claiming to be the reincarnation of the legendary Cambodian singer Sinn Sisamouth. One such claimant is Chin Kong, a 42-year-old farmer from Peam village in the Kampong Rap commune of Prey Kabbas district, Takeo province. He has publicly declared himself as the golden-voiced emperor, even displaying a banner outside his home that reads, “The House of Sinn Sisamouth, Rebirth.”
