Tragic Discovery: Deaf Woman Found Dead in Svay Rieng Canal, Authorities Launch Investigation
Svay Rieng Province : A shocking scene unfolded on the morning of December 23, 2024, when residents of Prey Toeng Village in Svay Rieng District discovered the lifeless body of a deaf and disabled woman floating in a canal behind a local gas field. The discovery has left passersby and villagers horrified, prompting immediate reports to the authorities.
The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Long Ratana, also known by her alias Tong Saing. Despite her hearing impairment, she was able to hear and write, and worked at a nearby factory. Local sources suggest that Ratana may have been lured to the isolated area before being assaulted and ultimately left for dead in the water.
