Outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of India expresses optimism for India-Cambodia relations

Phnom Penh: On the afternoon of December 23, 2024, Prime Minister Hun Manet of the Kingdom of Cambodia hosted Dr. Devyani Khobragade, the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of India, in a courtesy call at the Peace Palace. 

During the meeting, Ambassador Khobragade expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia for its unwavering support and cooperation throughout her diplomatic mission. She noted that this collaboration was instrumental in the success of her tenure and played a crucial role in the further development and strengthening of bilateral relations. With optimism, she expressed her belief that India-Cambodia relations are poised to reach even greater heights.

In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet commended Ambassador Khobragade for her significant contributions to enhancing the fruitful relations between the two countries. He recognized her efforts in expanding cooperation across various sectors.

Additionally, officials, including Hun Manet and Dr. Ban, conveyed their satisfaction with the progress achieved in several areas of collaboration. They highlighted the importance of leadership exchanges, trade and economic cooperation, security and national defense, digital initiatives, human resource development, culture and religion, tourism, and direct flight connections between Cambodia and India. The officials noted that these initiatives have fostered stronger people-to-people contacts, further solidifying the bond between the two nations.
