UN Triangular Partnership Programme Concludes in Cambodia

Phnom Penh-December 20, 2024:  Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, who also serves as the High Representative of Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, presided over the closing ceremony of the UN Triangular Partnership Programme (UNTPP) held at the Training School for Multinational Peacekeeping Forces in Kompong Speu Province.

In his address at the ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn expressed gratitude to Japan, the Republic of Korea (ROK), Australia, and the United Nations for their collaborative efforts in organizing the program, which featured a diverse cohort of national and international trainees. He highlighted that hosting such an event is a significant honor for Cambodia, underscoring the recognition of its armed forces’ capabilities and extensive experience in peacekeeping operations over the last 20 years.

Furthermore, Deputy Prime Minister Prak Sokhonn emphasized the importance of the skills and knowledge acquired during the program, stating that it would further enhance the trainees’ effectiveness and preparedness for future peacekeeping missions. The ceremony marked a pivotal moment in reinforcing Cambodia's commitment to international peacekeeping initiatives and its role on the global stage.
