Boundary Marking Regulations and Detailed Maps for the Funan Techo Canal Project Successfully Completed

Phnom Penh – On the afternoon of December 20, 2024, Mr. Peng Porna, Minister of Public Works and Transport and head of the Special Technical Working Group, announced the completion of the verification of boundary marking regulations and the preparation of detailed maps for the first section of the Funan Techo Canal project. This section spans 21 kilometers, from Prek Takeo to Prek Por, and has achieved 100% completion.

During the event, Minister Peng Porna convened an inter-ministerial delegation along with related technical working groups to validate the boundary marking regulations. He honored the final boundary marking for the Funan Techo Canal project, a significant milestone indicating the project has met all planned objectives.

The inter-ministerial working group, led by the Ministry of Public Works and Transport, successfully established 142 land markers along the designated waterway. This accomplishment reflects the group's commitment to determining boundaries and preparing detailed maps for the Prek Chik Funan Techo project.

Despite facing various challenges, including marker locations situated in difficult terrains such as deep lakes and dense forests, the technical working group demonstrated exceptional cooperation and dedication in executing the task at hand. Local authorities and citizens also played a vital role in the project's smooth implementation, showcasing their support for the Royal Government of Cambodia’s efforts in advancing the Prek Chik Funan Techo project.
