Phnom Penh: On the morning of December 10, 2024, Prime Minister Hun Manet of the Kingdom of Cambodia received a courtesy call from Nguyen Huy Tang, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Cambodia, marking the conclusion of the Ambassador's diplomatic mission in the country.
During their meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Huy Tang expressed his deep admiration for Cambodia’s numerous achievements over the years. He commended the Royal Government's efforts during the 7th term of the National Assembly, under the leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, which has ensured peace, political stability, social order, and progressive development across various sectors, resulting in significant economic growth and improved living standards for the Cambodian people.
The Ambassador highlighted Cambodia's accomplishments in organizing both universal and non-universal elections, successfully hosting the 2022 ASEAN Summit, the 2023 SEA Games, and the ASEAN Para Games. He also noted Cambodia's role in hosting prominent international meetings, including the Executive Committee Meeting of the International Center for Democratic Democracy (IDC-CDI), the 12th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP 12), the 11th Plenary Session of the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace (IPTP11), and the Siem Reap-Angkor Summit on a Mine-Free World, which further raised Cambodia's profile on the global stage.
Ambassador Nguyen expressed gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia for its support and collaboration during his tenure, emphasizing that these efforts have strengthened relations and cooperation based on good neighborliness, traditional friendship, and long-term stability between the two nations.
In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet praised the Ambassador's contributions to promoting and enhancing bilateral relations across various fields. He expressed satisfaction with the developments in the Cambodia-Vietnam partnership and underscored the importance of continued communication among leadership and citizens at all levels to further reinforce and expand cooperation.
Both the Prime Minister and the outgoing Ambassador acknowledged the advancements made in trade, investment, national defense and security, tourism, education, culture, and people-to-people ties, reflecting a robust and beneficial partnership between the two countries.
