ICAPP Representative Praises Cambodia for Maintaining Peace and Stability Amid Global Uncertainty

Phnom Penh, November 22, 2024– On the morning of November 22, Prime Minister Hun Manet of the Kingdom of Cambodia received a courtesy call from Mr. Chung Eui-Yong, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP), along with members of the delegation attending the 12th ICAPP General Assembly and related meetings at the 7th Makara Palace.

During the meeting, Mr. Chung commended Cambodia for the excellent organization of the 12th ICAPP General Assembly and associated events. He praised the country's ability to maintain peace and stability, which he identified as a crucial foundation for socio-economic development, especially in a time when several nations worldwide are facing uncertainty. The Chairman noted Cambodia's experience in its peace and reconciliation process as a successful case study worthy of sharing on a global scale.

In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his appreciation for ICAPP as a vital regional political party organization that facilitates connection, relationship-building, and dialogue, complementing governmental efforts to address global challenges. He stressed the significance of peace and reconciliation as essential for the welfare of individual countries, regions, and the world as a whole. The Prime Minister shared insights about Cambodia's peace and reconciliation process, particularly the "win-win" policy which has led to lasting peace and comprehensive development across various sectors. He underscored the importance of leadership and trust-building in achieving complete peace in Cambodia.

The discussions also covered a range of regional and international issues, further emphasizing the collaborative role of ICAPP in addressing these matters.
