Lao Vice President Praises Cambodia’s Rapid Progress Across Sectors

Phnom Penh, November 22, 2024 – On the morning of November 22, Samdech Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, held a meeting with Ms. Pany Yathotou, Vice President of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, during the 12th General Assembly of the International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) at the 7th Makara Palace.

During their discussions, the Vice President congratulated Prime Minister Hun Manet on his recent election and praised Cambodia’s rapid advancements in various sectors, noting the improvements in living standards and the nation's growing prestige on the international stage. Ms. Yathotou expressed her admiration for Cambodia's exemplary preparations for hosting the 12th ICAPP General Assembly and its related meetings.

The Vice President also conveyed her satisfaction with the development of the bilateral relationship and cooperation between Laos and Cambodia, thanking the Royal Government of Cambodia for its continued support of the Lao government and people.

In response, Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed gratitude for the Vice President’s attendance at the ICAPP event and reaffirmed the importance he places on the strong and progressing relations between the two nations. He asserted his belief that bilateral cooperation will continue to develop and strengthen.

The leaders discussed avenues for enhancing cooperation between Cambodia and Laos in various sectors, including trade and economy, energy, security and defense, infrastructure connectivity, and people-to-people exchanges.
