PHNOM PENH, 21 November 2024 — DP World, a prominent logistics company headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, has expressed interest in investing in Cambodia, focusing on transport, logistics, and industrial park development. Cambodia’s strategic location within ASEAN has been cited as a key factor driving the company’s interest.
The announcement came during a meeting between DP World CEO Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem and Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet at the National Assembly Palace in Phnom Penh this morning.
Sultan Ahmed Bin Sulayem highlighted DP World’s global expertise in port logistics and supply chain technology, noting the company’s presence across ASEAN and other regions worldwide.
Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed the company’s interest, emphasizing the Royal Government’s supportive investment policies and mechanisms. He underscored Cambodia’s strong connectivity to regional and global markets through bilateral and multilateral free trade agreements, including the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between Cambodia and the United Arab Emirates.
The Prime Minister encouraged DP World to engage further with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions to explore investment possibilities in greater depth.
This potential collaboration reflects Cambodia’s commitment to fostering international investment and strengthening its role as a key logistics hub in Southeast Asia.
