BREAKING NEWS: National Assembly to Hold Plenary Session to Vote on Change of Foreign Minister

Phnom Penh: If nothing changes, tomorrow morning, the National Assembly will hold its third plenary session of the 7th term to vote on the change of Foreign Minister. The Assembly is expected to elect Mr. Prak Sokhonn as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, replacing Mr. Sok Chenda Sophea, who has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister.

This update was confirmed in the agenda of the National Assembly Standing Committee meeting held on the morning of November 19.

At the 3rd National Assembly session of the 7th term on November 20, 2024, the National Assembly Standing Committee has set four key agenda items, including:

1. Vote of confidence on the amendment and addition of two members to the Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

2. Discussion and approval of the proposal to amend the title and provisions of the draft law regarding the approval and cancellation of the Agreement on the Promotion and Facilitation of Trade in the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle.

3. Discussion and approval of the draft law on the payment of the general state budget for the year 2023.

4. Discussion and approval of the draft law on finance for the year 2025.
