The Royal Government Decides to Increase the Salary of 40,000 Riels for Civil Servants and Retirees

Phnom Penh – The Royal Government of Cambodia has announced a salary increase of 40,000 Riels for all civil servants, members of the Armed Forces, and retirees for the year 2025. This decision follows the approval of the draft law on finance management for 2025 by the National Assembly on November 6, 2024.

The salary increase aims to encourage civil servants and retirees for their hard work in the past and future. Following this adjustment, the salaries for various positions will be as follows: civil service salaries will rise to approximately 1,396,950 Riels; teachers and doctors will receive about 1,496,950 Riels; police sergeants will earn approximately 1,483,927 Riels, which includes the rice regime; and soldiers will see their salaries increase to about 1,346,550 Riels, excluding the rice regime. With the rice regime, soldiers' salaries will be around 1,405,027 Riels. Additionally, the monthly allowance for contracted officials will increase to 790,000 Riels.

The Royal Government has allocated a budget of 1 billion Riels for 2025, which will also support increases in pensions for civil servants, Armed Forces personnel, retirees, and disabled individuals.
