Phnom Penh, Cambodia – The Standing Committee of the Senate has decided to forward three draft laws to their respective expert committees for further review and comment. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on the morning of November 11, 2024.
According to a press release from the Secretary General of the Senate, the following actions were taken:
The draft law concerning the approval and cancellation of the Agreement on the Promotion and Facilitation of Trade in the Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam Development Triangle will be submitted to the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Propaganda and Information for review and comment.
The draft law that approves the Kingdom of Cambodia to become a party to the Agreement on the Adoption of the Joint United Nations Technical Regulations for Vehicles, Equipment, and Parts compatible with vehicles, as well as the conditions for mutual recognition of conformity based on UN regulations, will be sent to the Commission on Public Transport, Civil Aviation, Post, Telecommunications, Industry, Mining, Energy, Trade, Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction for review and comments.
The draft law addressing wastewater systems will be reviewed by the same Commission on Public Transport, Civil Aviation, Post, Telecommunications, Industry, Mining, Energy, Trade, Land Management, Urban Planning, and Construction for their feedback and commentary.
