Prime Minister Hun Manet Advocates for Education Reform at Inauguration Ceremony in Kampong Cham

Kampong Cham, October 26, 2024: During the inauguration ceremony celebrating the achievements of the China Aid Project, Prime Minister Hun Manet made significant recommendations aimed at reforming Cambodia's education system, particularly emphasizing the enhancement of primary education and technology-related subjects. This event took place at Hun Sen Peam Chi Kang High School in the Kang Meas District.

In his address, Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed gratitude towards the educators, acknowledging their vital role as both teachers and caregivers in the lives of students. He remarked, "Teachers act as the second parents of students," underscoring the importance of their contributions to society.

Highlighting the relationship between peace and national development, the Prime Minister stated that maintaining peace is essential for rebuilding infrastructure and advancing the nation. "Together, we must maintain peace, strengthen security, and uphold social order to continue our nation's development," he emphasized.

Moreover, Prime Minister Hun Manet reiterated the imperative of continuous education reform, stating, "There is no education that is stagnant; it must evolve and adapt regularly." He highlighted that while nation-building efforts require a comprehensive approach, key priorities should focus on public participation in maintaining peace, understanding social values, and improving livelihoods.

The Royal Government's educational policy, as articulated by Hun Manet, aims to bolster and expand local infrastructure, thanking teachers nationwide for their commitment to improving education and community development. "Today's achievements benefit both students and teachers, marking a positive step forward for Cambodia's educational landscape," he added.

Despite facing challenges this year, including the impact of natural disasters on neighboring countries, Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed confidence in the resilience of the Cambodian people. He acknowledged sentiment among some calling for governmental change but assured that many Cambodians recognize the value of peace and stability.
