Bilateral Meeting between Mr. SOK Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and Mr. Kulubaev Zheenbek, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan

On 23 September 2024, on the occasion of attending the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, Deputy Prime Minister SOK Chenda Sophea, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation had a bilateral meeting with Mr. Zheenbek Kulubaev, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan at the United Nations Headquarters, New York. The two ministers discussed the enhancement of ties under bilateral and multilateral framework particularly in trade, investment, and people to people exchange. Mr. Zheenbek Kulubaev expressed his intention to welcome Cambodian students in the field of medical science since Kyrgyzstan has expertise and has welcomed students from many countries in the field.

On the occasion, Mr. Deputy Prime and His Excellency Zheenbek Kulubaev signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the Establishment of Bilateral Consultations between the two foreign ministries and agreed to convene the first meeting at an early date.

Kyrgyzstan is a country located in the Central Asia region with a population of approximately 7 million and forged diplomatic ties with Cambodia in 1995.
